Searching the Web

| Abstract: |
In this series of three lectures we survey the algorithmic aspects
of searching and retrieving information on the Web. Our first
lecture reviews some of the models and measurements that have been
recently reported about the Web and possible implications of those
models for searching. In the second lecture, we discuss the
algorithms for ranking the results of a search engine using the
connectivity analysis. The third lecture discusses a few more
search scenarios, beyond what is currently supported in search
engines, and some related algorithms.
