The " Freydoon Mansouri's fellowship 2014 " in string has been awarded to Amin Faraji Astaneh a PhD student of physics department of Sharif University of Technology under the supervision of Professor Amir Esmaeil Mosaffa.
The first Freydoon Mansouri's fellowship was awarded to Mahdi Torabian in September 2005. Torabian who worked under the supervision of IPM Professor M.M. Sheikh Jabbari received his PhD in summer of 2007 and received a Postdoctoral position at ICTP in Trieste, Italy and he is in Sharif University of Technology at present.
The second fellowship was awarded to Alireza Tavanfar a PhD student of school of physics in September 2007. Tavanfar who worked under the supervision of Professor Shahrokh Parvizi of physics department of Sharif University of Technology received a post-doctoral position at CERN and then at Harvard University and he is at IIP in Natal, Brazil at present.
The third fellowship was awarded to Navid Abbasi a PhD. student of Sharif University of Technology in 2012. Abbasi who worked under the supervision of Professor Hessamaddin Arfaei of physics department of Sharif University of Technology received a postdoctoral position at School of Particles and Accelerators, IPM.
The awards committee consists of Farhad Ardalan, Hessamaddin Arfaei & Reza Mansouri. The fellowship was established in honor of late Freydoon Mansouri's by his family to encourage work in string theory in Iran.
